Abstract
A humite-chondrodite-spinel-magnesian calcite assemblage occurs in the calcsilicate rocks of the Ambasamudram area and is associated with the high-grade metamorphic rocks of Peninsular India. This assemblage was stabilised under high-grade metamorphic conditions followed by partial reequilibration under dominant fluorine influence. A coexisting humite-chondrodite assemblage in textural equilibrium does not appear to have been reported from elsewhere.
